Kintamani
Kintamani is the most favorite tourist destinations in Bali with the active volcano of mount Batur and beautiful lake. Kintamani is surrounded by the captivating nature and there are six ancient villages around cauldron of Batur Lake which is often conceived by Bali Age Village. The local people from these Bali Age villages own the unique cultures, houses and life style. Kintamani Area is consisted of some Villages those are Kedisan Village , Buahan, Abang, Trunyan, Songan, South Batur, Middle Batur, North Batur, Sukawana and Kintamani Village . The total of resident in these area are about 15 thousand who are mostly working as farmer, merchant, or work at industrial tourism.

Kintamani Volcano and Batur Lake
Mount Batur is located at Kintamani and it has erupted about 24 times since year 1800 and still active up to now. Since the mount erupting, it has impacted to the local society life around this mount, like removing altar (Temple), improve or repairing the village and re-arrange the tradition. Lake Batur is the biggest lake in Bali and functioning as irrigation source to all farmers around it and it is also for all Bali society generally. Kintamani area has been founded some lodging, hotels and restaurants which are located in Kintamani and Penelokan Village. It is a famous tourist place because Kintamani area owns the beautiful panorama and it is encircled by the cold atmosphere.

Location
Kintamani is located in Kintamani sub district, Bangli Regency and about 50 km from Denpasar Town or about 2 hours by car. All roads are generally in good condition to access to this place. The fog will descend and blanket entire area of Kintamani with cold temperature in particular at late afternoon until the whole of night. The most amazing panorama at Kintamani can be seen in the morning time, when the sunrise emerges on the surface of earth precisely on the mount Batur

Join us for this amazing trek on the active volcano, Mount Batur.  Starting in the dark of the early morning, we’ll ascend to the highest peak and crater for a glorious sunrise and stunning morning views.  While there we will breakfast on tea and eggs boiled in volcanic steam.   During our descent, we will explore the three younger craters and the most recent lava flows while we take in the amazing volcanic landscape.

Mount Abang

Gunung Abang is the highest point on the rim of the Batur caldera and, at 2,151 meters, is the third-highest in all of Bali. It lies to the east of Lake Batur. Abang was part of a prehistoric massive volcano. However, as this 4,000-meter volcano cooled the remaining rim, with the active Batur volcano peak inside, remained. This area is known as Kintamani.

Abang is still natural and untouched by human development, making it a peaceful trek through forests and past only a few Balinese temples. Bird sounds and clean fresh air can be enjoyed all the way up, making you feel close to Mother Earth and her calming energy.

The view from the top is breathtaking, with cloud formations surrounding the lake and volcano on one side, and Mount Agung, “the naval of the world,” along with a picturesque coastline on the other.

Your journey :
Your cycling adventure will be started from picking you up at your hotel and drop directly to Kintamani, the famous place of Batur Lake and active volcano. This breathtaking bicycle tour goes down through 26 km of lush valleys through Balinese Villages, passes over the centuries old temples and rich green rice fields. Guides will give a safety introduction to guest, explaining how to use the brakes and gears, how to avoid too much exposure to the sun, how to make sure they drink enough fluids, and to always wear their helmets. The  guide will explain the history of the land, culture, and the traditional people along the journey. Trunyan Cycling/ Kintamani

Trunyan Village is one of the original Bali village residents (Bali Aga) which still owns and uphold the customs and beliefs of their own. Population of Trunyan perceive their identity in two versions. The first version, they are the community of “Bali Turunan” (Bali Derivatives). They believe that their ancestors descended from heaven to earth. So that the Trunyan community has sacred myth or fairy tale that the origin of the population Trunyan is a goddess of the sky. The second version is that the Trunyan people live in ecological systems with a tree “Taru Menyan”, which is spreading tree fragrance. The name “taru” and “menyan” evolved into “Trunyan” is used as the name of the village.

Weather in the Trunyan village is very cool, averaging 17 degrees Celsius and sometimes down to 12 degrees Celsius. Lake Batur to 9 km in length and width of 5 km is one source of water and a source of agrarian life of the people of Bali south and east. The uniqueness of the Trunyan village is treat the bodies of people who have died. Different with the Bali Hindu people in general who solemnize Ngaben for burning the body. In the Trunyan village, the body does not burn but only placed in the graveyard in a forest area. Strangely, the body will not stink out, despite being there for many months. Trunyan residents believe that it absorbs the bad smell of the corpses is Taru Menyan tree.

Cycling and Canoeing

We will  picked you up at the hotel. On the way to the village, started to tell you about the Bali history, cultures, Balinese lifestyle etc.. everything you want to know. You will meet the local guide at Kedisan village as the starting point for cycling at around 09:00 am. Breakfast is ready upon your arrival to boost your energy to do canoeing

wove our way through the countryside to Kedisan village at Lake Batur. The lake was clean and picture perfect and our guides very knowledgeable and their love of the Balinese shone through.

We were provided with a light breakfast and given a briefing before starting the canoeing. Though the wind was howling  our guides, were very supportive and explained how to paddle the boats in the wind. It was a very rare day to have the wind but it was still enjoyable.

You will pass several villages in the foot of Mt. Abang and along the side of Lake Batur where you will see villagers planting the cabbages, tomatoes, red onions. This is their way of living besides fishing. If you wish, you can join the farmer to plant or harvest their plantation in a traditional way. Here, you can feel the cool wind while you walk along the bank of Lake Batur, with the panorama of Mt. Batur (1717 m) on your left as well as Mt. Abang with its slopes and tropical forest on your right side.

After about 1 hour cycling, you will reach Abang Village as your starting point for catamaran canoe trip across the biggest lake in Bali. While paddling in a cool wind, you can enjoy the sight of the fishermen fishing, the panoramic view of Mt. Batur (1717 m) in front of you as well as Mt. Abang and Trunyan village behind you.

.We will spend half day Canoeing, a typical fishing village that out grows the seas and mountains  on Lake Batur, we will stop for a swim, or a simple, relaxing and comfortable rest on our net situated at the boats deck.  see another side of Bali that you will fall in love with. 1/2 day canoe tours or full day canoe/cultural tours are offered.
You can enjoy lunch at ,,,,,,,while admiring the beautiful view of Lake Batur. You can also dip in the natural hot spring to relax your body and feet before you continue your other holiday schedule

DAY 1
Start from your hotel at 1.30pm, with an air conditioner minibus about 2 hours trip to Kintamani, along the trip you will enjoy a sea scene, rice and, orange field, bamboo handicraft industry and also the way of life people In the area you are passing by. Hope you will arrive at  Toya Bungkah by 04.00 pm, your camping site is on the Batur Lakeside surrounded by Mount Abang and Batur. After checking in, you can also have swimming or just submerged yourself in the unsmell of sulphur hot spring ( 29 – 35 C) water, that naturally come from Mount Batur.. in the clearly cold night weather ,at around 7.30pm you can make a campfire, following with BBQ Dinner of special fish from the Batur Lake which called “Mujair” with a different taste than other served with white rice, Balinese vegetable fries, etc and fresh fruit as the dessert. After spending sometimes around the campfire, that’s the time for you to take a rest in a warm comfortable tent before continue the next morning for Trunyan Ridge Trekking.

DAY 2
In the morning after breakfast at one of Restaurant around 09.00 am, we will drive you to Trunyan, crossing the Lake by small-motorized wooden boat. It takes 30 minutes to arrive on the cemetery. Trunyan village is one of the oldest village of Bali and is presumably belong to the first or second migrants into Bali. They have a tradition, which is very unique that the dead is not buried or cremated, but it is just put and exposed into the air on a narrow spot on the bank of the lake. To bring the corps from the village to the cemetery they use canoe. During the process of decaying there is definitely no bad smell from that. After visit Trunyan Cemetery back to Toya Bungkah where you can have swimming or just submerged in the natural hot spring water from the Mount Batur. At 12.00 noon you can have your set menu as your lunch, and from there you can continue your holiday schedule or back to your hotel.
